Online “Fix My Audition” Class w/ Rance Wright (Performance Coach), Alison Franck (Casting Director) and John O’Neill (Musical Director)

The Wright Way introduces workshops as a valuable tool to enhance your learning experience. The Wright Way believes that workshops assist in elevating one’s performance, auditions and technique.

At times like this we must turn to each other to find ways to keep sharp on our auditions technique. So The Wright Way has created this online “Fix My Audition” Class to help you stay connected and informed. Rance Wright (Performance and Auditions Coach) will be teaming up with Alison Franck (New York Casting Director; Grinch, A Christmas Story, An American In Paris, etc.) and John O’Neill (Broadway, Off Broadway, Regional Musical Director and Composer) for this particular class. This class will focus on your music choice and story telling. There is no better crew to take a look at your material and make sure you are making smart choices with your Audition material than Alison, John and Rance. We are excited to work with you and hope that you continue to make this class a continued part of your weekly programing.

Individuals interested in this class will be required to prepare 1 – one minute to minute and a half Song, fully memorized. Each student will be given the chance to perform in a safe space and will be given notes and then able to present material again.

Alison Franck has been a casting director in NYC for over 20 years. She started as an assistant for many Broadway Productions, then she worked in film/TV for several years, then from 2000-2010, she was the Resident Casting Director at Paper Mill Playhouse. In 2011 she joined the team at Liz Lewis Casting Partners, where she cast commercials, voice overs, film/TV and theatre. Alison now runs her own company, Franck Casting, where she has currently cast several tours of well known musicals including A Christmas Story, the Musical!, A Chorus Line, Legally Blonde & Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Upcoming Dreamgirls and An American in Paris tours.

John O’Neill is a musical director and composer living in New York City. In addition to writing Sunshine, he has written the musical review Topical Cruise, which was commissioned and performed by the Fulton Opera House in Lancaster, Pa. He has also written several children’s musicals including The Snow Queen, which was performed at Merkin Hall in New York. O’Neill has been a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop. As a musical director, conductor and pianist, he has worked on such Broadway and off-Broadway shows as Cabaret, A Chorus Line, The Boy From Oz, Jesus Christ Superstar, Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, Dream True, Show Me Where the Good Times Are and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. In regional theater, O’Neill has conducted and/or musical directed for the North Carolina Theatre for the Arts, New Harmony Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Berkshire Theatre Festival, Fulton Opera House and Paper Mill Playhouse. He was also the pianist for the original cast recording of Children of Eden. As a teacher and vocal coach, he has been on the faculty of the Drama Division at The Juilliard School, the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and the Collaborative Arts Project 21 in New York.

RANCE WRIGHT received his MFA and MM from the Boston Conservatory and holds a BFA in Music, Dance and Theatre from Brigham Young University. He is an accomplished performing arts professional with over 20 years of experience as a consultant, casting director, manager and artist. His most recent credits include associate casting the national tours of Guys and Dolls, Grinch, and A Christmas Story alongside NY casting veteran Alison Franck of Franck Casting. Rance also recently had his Fringe associate directorial debut in “A Step Beyond The Rain”. Rance currently guides acting for the stage and directs shows at the American Musical Theatre Academy in New York City.

In 2015 Rance created a performing arts program for Turn Community Services in Utah helping advance communication skill sets for adults with special needs. His unique style and creativity are the perfect combination for very successful learning initiatives.

As a musical theatre artist, Rance’s credits include numerous Off- Broadway shows, National tours, and regional productions.

Rance foresaw a need to help others gain a greater knowledge and understand- ing of their talent and art; that desire combined with his entrepreneurial spirit quickly lead to the birth of The Wright Way Coaching which is now a part of Wright Way Productions, LLC.

Rance’s personal and professional experiences along with his ability to see the talent and creativity in others has transcended his focus to furthering the knowledge and understanding of theatre, music, and dance for adult and young per- formers alike. Recognized professionally as one of the leaders in artists career development and utilizing “communication through theatre” for the personal advancement of professional artists and special needs adults are quickly becoming hallmarks of his career.
